Steve joined MadeCurious after completing the Dev Academy bootcamp, cutting his teeth as an engineer and tester on the original myWorksites development team before moving into managing end-user support.
He spent years in the trenches with the platform, onboarding and training various Road Controlling Authorities along the way.
In an earlier life he was an accountant over in Singapore, which turned out to be useful training for his current role as Chief of Staff, where he now works with Abi to look after the wider health of the business: day to day that means keeping an eye on people, delivery and the numbers across both MadeCurious and myWorksites.
Talk to him about: switching over from a legacy system (he's led the data-mapping work behind major transitions like Auckland Transport and Christchurch City Council), the historical "why does it work like that" behind the platform, or, oddly, people, culture, and spreadsheets.
Outside work: Reading time's in short supply with a six-year-old in the house, so weekends run more to Lego, puzzles, an unhealthy geopolitics habit, and couch-potato sports fandom (F1 and football especially). Mildly allergic to the outdoors, and still nursing a long-running fantasy of relocating the whole family to Tokyo. Or Milan. Or Taiwan. Just not back to Singapore.
