Eila Gendig

Eila describes herself as a translator and a challenger, someone who moves between science, policy and product and is never quite satisfied with "that's just how it's done."

Trained as a scientist (a BSc in Biology from the University of Münster, and a Master's in Natural Resources Management and Ecological Engineering split across Vienna and Prague), Eila's spent years in New Zealand public sector strategy and environmental policy: as an advisor to the Department of Conservation, Principal for water use monitoring at Environment Canterbury, and designing freshwater policy for the Ministry for the Environment.

At myWorksites, that same instinct for the awkward "why" now shows up in customer onboarding, documentation and asking the questions that keep a solution logical and user-driven, rather than just technically working.

Outside work: Cooking without ever quite following a recipe, gardening (especially the two weeks a year the apricots ripen), trail running with her dog through the Christchurch foothills, and currently working towards benching her own bodyweight at CrossFit. She also claims governance as a genuine hobby: 4+ years on her local high school's Board of Trustees, chairing for the last 18 months, and previously three years on the Aoraki/Waitaha Conservation Board.
